Chapter 5969: Just A Prodigal Son

Radiant Master knew fifty million jades was not something she could personally repay. Her entire sect required a long time to muster the amount. Therefore, Li Qiye’s generosity was unheard of not even a big shot could let this go for free.

“We will never forget your generosity, Young Noble. If we can ever be useful to you in the future, just say the words.” She calmed her raging emotions and bowed repeatedly.

Incense Daoist and Edge Mountain Crone smiled wryly. Although this seemed ridiculous, the sum was nothing to Li Qiye. “Go, it’s sad to see two dao lineages reduced to this state.” Li Qiye waved his hand.

She had a sad expression because long ago, her sect was one of the ten dao lineages just like Insane Court.

This was especially true before the merger when they were known as Longevity Valley. Others coveted their alchemy products and only worried about them not accepting the bid.

Today, she had no choice but to ask to borrow money just to get by - a difference between heaven and earth.

After bidding goodbye one last time, she finally left in dejection despite having fulfilled her mission.

Furious Wind watched her departing figure with his mouth open, unable to say goodbye. He had tried her best but his sect couldn’t afford the sum. All the elders didn’t have enough refined jades.

Today, Li Qiye casually gave her a crystal exceeding this amount. This put him in an awkward and humiliated state.

It was one thing to lose to someone stronger or nobler, but a mortal relying on his ancestor’s grace? “Bah, just a prodigal son who won’t amount to anything.” Six-step Saint Child spat on the ground, feeling as annoyed as possible after being slapped by a mortal.

“You wish you were in my position but your ancestors aren’t anywhere near this level.” Li Qiye retorted.

Six-step trembled with rage and turned red, feeling the urge to slap this mortal to pieces. Nevertheless, he restrained himself and stomped on the ground once before leaving.

Furious Wind didn’t feel much better - losing to a mortal in the presence of his crush. He snorted and left as well.

“Let’s take a look over there.” Li Qiye paid them no mind and pointed forward.

“Li Shrine.” The daoist stared in that direction and said: “Allow me, Young Noble, I am very familiar with Insane Gate.”

Li Qiye smiled and followed his lead.

“Ancient dragon crystal? Impossible!” The elders shouted in unison after listening to Furious Wind’s recollection.

“I don’t think Ancient Step has one...” One elder remarked, aware of its rarity.

“A mortal can’t have something like this.” Another elder said.

“It doesn’t make sense logically.” A third added.

“Where did he get one then?” Someone else said.

They all had the same answer - the ancestor of the Chu.

“So this ancestor is a high official in Enigma?” An elder asked but everyone believed in this by this point.

“I would say so.” The first elder said.

If anyone were to have these crystals in Sin, they would be from the three dynasties. “I wonder who she is.” Furious Wind remarked, feeling better since it became less embarrassing losing to someone with such a strong background.

“I’m unsure, but it is not someone we can get into contact with right now.” The first elder said.

“A Grand Emperor?” Furious Wind said, causing everyone to take a deep breath.

“So the Chu might have a Grand Emperor in Enigma?” This caused some to feel dread.

Insane Court had not produced anyone capable after Insane Immortal. If they were to see a Grand Emperor right now, they would tremble with fear.

This was the closest they ever got to knowing someone related to a Grand Emperor.

“I know Enigma has three ancestors and five emperors.” One ancestor murmured.

Furious Wind knew many things about Sin and said: “The emperors are Endlaw, Dragonform, Disaster, Minisun, and Six-style.”

“Hmm, I don’t think any of them is from the Chu.” They exchanged glances and one elder said.

“What about the three ancestors?” Someone else asked.

“Hidden, Secret, and Strategy Ancestor. I haven’t heard of any of them being from the Chu.” Furious Wind frowned.

“The first two are mysterious and ancient, Strategy Ancestor, on the other hand, is the backbone of Enigma, the one in charge.” The first elder said.

“What do you know about the other two?” A listener asked.

“Not much.” The first elder shook his head: “Hidden Ancestor is the oldest existence in Enigma, rumored to be the one doing the rebuilding after each of its destruction. Thus, this ancestor might be as old as the dynasty itself.”

“And Secret Ancestor?” Furious Wind asked.

“Another elusive figure, others are aware of this ancestor’s existence but never seen in person.” The first elder responded.
